Sunday update

Hi folks,

Dennis is getting stronger each day and continues with his physical progress. He is managing a few steps without his walker. He is still have some edema in his legs but they are getting less swollen and less painful.

Dennis continues to have issues with his short term memory. He is frustrated with being in the hospital and would like to return home. He does not remember the recent past and is confused as to the reasons behind his current hospital stay. It will be some time before we see him plateau in his condition - mentally and physically - in the meantime, we are working hard to get him there with lots and lots of encouragement.

Dennis, you are a really great guy and we all look forward to you and the future. The best way to make the most of the future is to make the most of now in the hospital!! Your body has been through so much - it is amazing. Be thankful for every thing in the hospital and all the staff. They can help you gain a great future. Be patient - the future depends on the careful days you spend now in the hospital!! May God continue to bless you richly in all good things!!! jeff n

Heh Dennis - hope your making the most of it!! It may sound easy for us to say but we treasure every moment your body continues to heal in the protective environment of the hospital. If your body goes through a rough time the staff can minimize the effects of that and thereby increase the quality of life for you in the long run. Each day in the hospital is an investment in the future!! May God continue to richly bless you with all good things!!! jeff n

Hey Dennis - it is muggy out!! If you are outside for even a little while it seems like your clothes and skin just suck up the moisture!! Rest eazy, read books, enjoy each moment and everything!! Make it a time of peace, reflection and growth in addition to healing. Every day counts - you can gain so much right there where you are!! Make the most of it all and know that you are preparing for new life to come! May God continue to bless you richly in all good things!!! jeff n

Hi Dennis! A slight hint of summer is coming back through early next week! Everyone will surely enjoy a little bit of warmth and sunshine. We can be thankful for the bit of good weather and the fact that we don't have the headaches of those in the financial and mortgage markets. Many of those would rather have their only worry to be resting in a hospital recovering from surgery! May God continue to bless you richly with all good things!!! Jeff N
