taking his first few steps

Dennis was up and taking a few steps with a walker today. Painfully slow but made it to the washroom (sorry ... restroom). He's taken his first shower in 7 weeks so, he's feeling clean and smelling better! He was seen by the rehab center Dr. on the 8th floor and it looks like he will start some extensive rehab in a couple of weeks.

Congratulations to you Dennis - you have made such amazing advances in your recovery. And you even smell better!! So good to hear that you have been able to begin with some time out of bed. You have been through so much and done so amazingly well. We are all so thankful for all your wonderful progress. May God continue to bless you with all good things!!! jeff n

Wow what awesome news Dennis! I am not using a walker yet but sometimes I feel like I should...we could share walker stories haha!

Every day you get stronger and are able to do a little more. It must feel great to get out of that bed too and move the body around. Showering is a good thing!

I am so happy for you and your family with this good news...one step at a time!

I still have no date for my surgery so just plugging away here. I have had some intense bouts of pain as well but it is mostly weather related now. If it continues I may call my surgeon and ask to skip the scope referral and head for the replacement instead...God is in control.

Blessings to all of you!

You're full of surprises. It's been such an amazing opportunity to follow your journey even before the surgery. I am reminded once again through you that God is indeed in control and that He's our Almighty God. His love prevails all. Don't forget to thank and give your love to your mom and sister for hanging on through this great journey. :)

to "princess3" - i don't know what you're going through but hope you're doing well. praying for you too. :)
