Hi folks,
Dennis was extubated yesterday at 3pm and so far he is holding his own. He is up in a chair today eating breakfast. His breathing is a bit labored. We are encouraging him to cough lots to get rid of his secretions. He is trying to communicate with us but we are having difficulty understanding him to due to his voice.
I am trying to working out visits with Dennis over the next few days. I will need to make these arrangements first. Once he is allowed visitors outside of family members, I will let you know. Likely starting sometime over the weekend.

so then what happened to the bleeding. doesn't need the surgery to tie off the bleeding? i'm lost. :) at any rate, i'm just happy to hear he's doing well so far.

You are a strong and awesome guy Dennis!! You are amazing to be doing so well. I know you have been through so much. Maybe you can see a little of the sunshine this weekend! What inspiring news today to hear you are sitting up eating. When you are able to maybe you could post us a note here just to say hi to us all as we eagerly await to hear your voice!
This Sunday is our Ironman Canada triathalon here in Penticton. As I drive through the bike trafiic and runners on the road, I am reminded of the marathon you have been enduring. You are so amazing! Keep it up trooper! His word says..."I will never leave you nor forsake you". You are a winner to us no matter what!
